We are delighted to announce Reading Rockets at NewGate!

It is a joyful and focused summer intensive reading program designed to support strong reading fluency by the end of third grade. The program blends NewGate’s Montessori philosophy with research-based literacy practices in a calm and encouraging environment. Our small group lessons emphasize decoding, fluency, comprehension, and a genuine love of stories. Children will read in leveled groups, practice expressive oral reading, explore word patterns using hands-on materials, and enjoy daily read-alouds and creative response activities. The goal is for each child to leave feeling more confident, capable, and excited to read.
