Welcome, Dr. Sandra Wirth!

Dear NewGate Families,

The Board of Trustees at NewGate School is absolutely delighted to announce the appointment of our next Head of School, Dr. Sandra (Sandy) Wirth, Ed.D., beginning July 1, 2025.

This marks a joyful and significant turning point for our entire community. We truly believe Sandy is the leader who will help us move confidently into the future: NewGateNext. Sandy’s extensive background in educational leadership, paired with her personal warmth, calm presence, and passion to support faculty and for student success, make her a powerful match for NewGate at this time in our school’s journey.

Sandy is an experienced education administrator and leader with a demonstrated commitment to school improvement efforts that increase growth and achievement for all students. She brings with her over 25 years of professional experience in the independent school world, as well as experience leading a Montessori school. Sandy has a deep understanding of how to lead with both vision and heart. Her academic credentials include: Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) – University of Delaware, Master of Arts in Education Administration – Villanova University, Bachelor of Science – Ursinus College

Sandy’s leadership style is rooted in collaboration, thoughtful communication, and high expectations—all qualities that reflect the Montessori approach to education. Her professional experience spans student retention strategies, teacher development, organizational leadership, fiscal management, fundraising, strategic decision-making, and community engagement. These skills are extremely well-aligned with what NewGate needs most right now, and will support our goal to grow as a thriving, fully enrolled Montessori school serving students from Toddler through Grade 12.

Sandy’s experience and exceptional leadership qualities were confirmed by all of her professional references who respectfully and enthusiastically recommended her.

We recognize that leadership transitions can bring about a mix of emotions. We are committed to supporting our teachers and staff as Sandy joins us—listening closely, providing clear communication, and honoring the incredible work that happens in every classroom.
