The New Gate School is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation entity. All items/services donated may be tax deductible.
What is the Annual Fund?
Once every year we ask our board, faculty, staff, parents, and friends to make a conscious, unconditional financial contribution to the New Gate School – the dollars raised make up the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is not just for one classroom or just for one campus or just for one year. Contributors give because they support the mission and work of this school for their own children, for their children’s friends at New Gate and for all the children of the future who will come to enjoy the blessing of a New Gate education.
Why do we hold an Annual Fund?
There are four key reasons why New Gate participates in fundraising events like the Annual Fund.
- Annual Fund fundraising allows us to stretch our programs and services beyond the limits of our tuition dollars.
- Fundraising allows us to keep our tuition as low as possible for the general student population while it simultaneously allows those who are capable to contribute significantly more.
- Successful, broad-based fundraising is visible evidence to major private and institutional funders that the New Gate community generously and enthusiastically supports the school.
- The Annual Fund invites adults to talk to adults about supporting the school. Our students are not required to sell items to support the school.
Why is the Annual Fund run by parent volunteers?
New Gate encourages parents to work together on many annual projects; it is our hope that many new friendships will sprout from each meaningful endeavor. Together we create a caring, thoughtful community of adults with a shared vision for our children and their education.
What is the Annual Fund for?
Several years ago when we began the Annual Fund and the Jamboree we significantly increased our annual financial-aid funding. Every year since, a large part of our fundraising dollars have gone toward the financial-aid program. Each year we also target an important school-wide need for extra funding., like playground equipment.
Why is 100% participation important?
Each year the Grant Committee completes several funding applications. We consistently receive scholarship funding from a group of local foundations (Jones, Hagan, and Publix Foundations); they want to know that our school community is supportive. The more evidence of internal community support the more successful we will be within the greater community of educational funders.
Are contributions to the Annual Fund tax deductible?
Yes, and please remember that many local companies will match your contribution. If you work for a company that matches donations please let us know; we are happy to help with the paper work.
Can I spread my contribution out over the school year?
Yes, you may spread your gift out over 4, 6, or 8 payments on a credit card. The New Gate office will bill your card directly each month so there is no interest expense.
How will you recognize contributors?
We will list the Annual Fund contributors in school notices. Contributors may request that their names be omitted from listings or that they be listed anonymously.
