Campus Life
Community

Each Fall New Gate School holds a Community Service Expo.  Non profit agencies from the greater Sarasota area come to campus, set up an information table, and encourage students to enlist in their causes as part of our students' Community Service requirement.   A great event that enlightens and engages the interest of our community-minded students, the participation to date has been enthusiastic.

Achievements & Awards
New Gate science students had an opportunity to conduct a unique environmental science experiment after teacher Frank Simko received a grant from Southwest Florida Water Management District.  Students paddled about 200 feet from the shore of Upper Myakka Lake to collect samples that hey tested for nitrates, phosphate and dissolved oxygen levels.  The grant award allowed students to get the hands-on experience in this specialized area of environmental protection.

This is my 7th and final year at New Gate. Do you know the saying "Time flies by when you’re having fun"? Well that is what I feel has happened. It feels like just yesterday that I started school at New Gate. Over these 7 years I have gained a great deal of knowledge, amazing friends and many outstanding opportunities.
