Please read the first page of the Harvard Business Review Blog; How Do Innovators Think? is related to the essential New Gate School education. Please note the last paragraph.
The concern for supporting creativity and understanding the potential of a child are not just New Gate School topics; take a look at: www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html

New Gate Gets a Sister Farm
Posted Tuesday June 29 2010
We are thrilled to announce a new program at New Gate that starts this fall. We have formed a partnership with Gamble Creek Farm, a nonprofit training farm in Parrish, to become our sister farm. Just imagine a day during the week when you pick up your child, that you will also pick up a box of locally-grown, organic produce, accompanied by recipes to make cooking and experimenting with new produce, something the whole family can enjoy.
Naturally, in keeping with Maria Montessori's working farm approach, our students will learn hands-on about farming through field trips to Gamble Creek, as well as working in New Gate's on-campus community garden that will begin to take shape this fall.
I encourage you to read the attached press release, visit www.gamblecreekfarm.org and sign up for your share of produce under the JOIN tab. You will also find samples of produce that is harvested, recipes, and past newsletters under the MEMBERS tab.
Thank you for helping to support our new partnership!

| Out of the 16 years I have attended New Gate, I am honored to say that the teachers and faculty have given me the best present anyone has to offer: knowledge. Without the teachers caring so much about my education and me, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I thank my parents’ everyday for choosing New Gate, a place where you learn about independence, service, and achievement as well as academic classes

Dear Parents, Faculty, and Staff, By now you should have received an email from Robert Dodd, Chair of the New Gate Board, announcing that The Montessori Foundation has entered into a long-term management agreement, whereby The Foundation will manage the day-to-day operations of the school.
I want to begin by acknowledging Paul Wenninger, and thank him for his contribution to New Gate over the last five years. We wish him well. Many of you have known Lorna and me for a long time. ...
